  • Peeled and seedless red plum- 250 gm
  • Granulated Sugar- 1/2 cup sugar
  • Kashmiri red chili powder-1 teaspoon
  • Black Salt- 2 teaspoons
  • Black Pepper- 1 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder-1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice-4-5 drops

Peel and cut the plum into small pieces, and remove the seed. You can also grate it for an even smoother chutney, but dicing works perfectly for a slightly pulpy texture.

In a small saucepan, add chopped, seedless, diced plums and sauté over a simmering gas for about one minute. 

Combine & Cook

Combine the plums with the sugar. Place the pan over very low heat. Stir continuously. The sugar will start to melt, and the plum will release its juices.

Simmer & Thicken

Continue cooking on low heat, stirring frequently, for about 8-10 minutes. Add black salt & red chili powder at this stage of cooking and mix well.
